Active Nutrition Guidelines for a Healthier You

You want to be a different you health wise and physically but don\’t know where to begin? Well, just begin! Making small active nutrition changes will take a strong determination and a habit forming behavioral shift. Do this by changing the way you eat and by starting to become more active. Doing this will not only help you, but your family will probably follow your example while you are leading them to a much healthier and longer life.

Writing your activities and food choices down will be the first thing you need to do for at least one week. People tend to make decisions based on a habit, which is dangerous because we tend not to think when we do things out of habit. Change this around by writing and having your mind actively get involved with you getting healthier.

The next step is to see your family doctor before you start making active nutrition choices. In your journal, you will write down what you do and how you feel. Your physician will give you all the biological data you need to place in your journal as well. He will let you know about your blood pressure, cholesterol, sugar levels, etc. Writing this down in your daily journal will help you to compare your physical data in the beginning with your data you will receive after you\’ve changed your habits for awhile.

Steps to Leading a Healthier Lifestyle with Active Nutrition

Step #1- Start preparing your food at home and follow a healthy menu. Be sure to include at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day and cut back on junk food, which includes items with high fat and sugar content. Also be aware of labels and stay away from processed chemical laden foods.

Step #2- Prepare your lunch for work as well as your kids\’ lunch for school. Lunches should contain fresh fruit and vegetables along with a healthy side and lean meat.

Step #3- Start exercising at least 3 times a week. You can walk the dog, play with the kids at a park, or jog around the block. It is also important to include strength training a couple times a week.

You may not see any results overnight with your active nutrition changes, but small changes every day leads into forming a different habit; forming a different habit ends up creating a different behavior, which leads into a better attitude. Once you start removing unhealthy foods from your body and balancing that with a physical fitness regimen, you will feel much better, sleep better, as well as have more energy.
