What Frequently Happens To Several Child Stars These Days
You don’t have to have a career, or even be out of diapers, before you become a major international superstar. All it takes is a little bit of talent and some parents who will push you into it. That accounts for the amount of child stars out there these days. Can you even believe the number? I can’t.
Unfortunately, so many of these kids go from the spot light to the jail cell or even worse. It is a wonder they can’t manage to make more out of all that talent, but their whole lives are kind of dedicated to this facade of importance and publicity and it makes their lives a mess.
Some of these kids don’t get the important chance to be kids anymore. They resort to drugs and alcohol because they feel that they are no longer wanted and they have no survivor mechanisms to get them through it.
These people need the time to develop normally, but they don’t get that chance. Kids all want to grow up. They want to stay up later, go out by themselves, drive and participate in all the cool stuff that happens with older kids.
They have no chance to learn how to behave in normal situations, like so many of us do. The parent’s role in child development is to provide the scaffolding for their child and gradually remove it as the child attains skills and abilities.
These child stars don’t have the normal opportunities to develop their own views of the world and so they turn to other things to experience their outlet of ability. They need to succeed, but they can’t.
At this point, the child stars come crashing into reality like big waves on a beach. The complicating factor for kid performers is that thing called fame.
Whatever gifts they gain in life aren’t enough to bring them to the point of happiness. Fortunately the negative concomitants aren’t inevitable but represent more likely extreme situations.
