Other than the fact both medications are used for pain, they are not the same. They each have situations when they should and should not be used. It’s like the difference between Tylenol and aspirin. Fioricet is a combination of acetaminophen, butalbital, and caffeine that is used to relieve tension headaches. Celebrex is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is used to relieve the pain of arthritis and menstrual cramps. Those are two entirely different conditions but for some reason people think that these two drugs are interchangeable. They are not, and taking them improperly can cause serious internal damage.
Quite often, people that are suffering from any type of pain will take whatever they can find available. If it ends up not working for them, they tend to take even more pain medication. When taking Fioricet, it has side effects such as dizziness and feeling drowsy, therefore it should be taken with food. Fioricet is similar to Tylenol as it contains acetaminophen, whereas Celebrex is similar to the anti inflammatory Ibuprofen, and classified as an NSAID, therefore making it similar to aspirin. Even though they have similarities with their counterparts, Celebrex and Fioricet are much more powerful, and should not be taken excessively.
